The legendary mare Ratina Z has passed away at the respectable age of 28 years. She was still at the stables of Ludger Beerbaum in Riesenbeck, Germany.
She enjoyed lots of succes with Piet Raijmakers, in particular at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, winning the team gold and individual silver medal. After that she was ridden by Ludger Beerbaum and she won another gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, the Grand Prix of Aachen and many others.

She was a beautiful mare, with a splendid technique and an incredible fighting spirit.
